About this time of year, I’m desperate for the weather to break. I need to get back into the garden. So what did Michigan have in store for me this weekend? It snowed on Saturday. But even though it’s cold, the sun is shining, the birds are singing and warmer weather will arrive sooner or later.
Since I can’t get into the garden, I decided to do a garden-inspired activity. I made a bunch of note cards to give away as gifts using a couple new rubber stamps that I bought from the local craft store.
I get the most consistent results using a print roller, block print ink and a good quality rubber stamp. I just love this floral design stamp that I purchased from Michael’s.
The hardest thing is getting the right amount of ink on the stamp. This stamp actually has a little too much ink on it (photo above). When this happens, some ink will squeeze out beyond the borders of the image. It’s a fine line between too much and too little ink. This is one of those activities where practice makes perfect.
Hand made note cards make the perfect host/hostess gift. Try this fun project to make a little gift the next time you visit a friend for dinner. People always appreciate something hand made.

I love this idea. You are inspiring me to want to start do crafts again. I don’t know where to begin. Even though I am retired, there still isn’t enough time in the day to do all the things I want and need to do.
Susie,
As always you design the most beautiful and clever things. What a great giveaway.
Fabulous, Susan!! What a fun and stylish project. I’d love to give and receive these note cards.
Cheers,
Loi
